PasswordBox also offers biometric authentication, but it's not what you might expect. RoboForm and LastPass 3.0 Premium ($36 Per Year at LastPass) (Opens in a new window) let you authenticate using a fingerprint reader. You can configure LastPass, Dashlane, Keeper Password Manager & Digital Vault 8 ($20.99 - $30% Off at Keeper Security UK) (Opens in a new window), and a few others to require a code generated by Google Authenticator in addition to the master password. Two-factor authentication adds another powerful layer of protection for many password managers. In Internet Explorer, I got a partial display my PasswordBox contact noted, "it seems you have identified a new bug for us to investigate."Īnybody who managed to crack your master password would get access to all your stored credentials, so choosing a strong master is important. This time I correctly saw the Start Page in Firefox and Chrome. I rolled back the test system and installed PasswordBox again. I left it turned off to start, and found that even when I enabled it in Advanced Settings, it did not appear in Chrome or Firefox. In testing this feature, I hit some snags. You can personalize the Start Page by adding your own favorites and re-ordering the list so that the eight sites you use the very most appear on its first page of entries. If you have credentials stored for any of the displayed sites, you'll see "1-Click Login" across the bottom of the panel. Initially seven of the panels display popular websites and the eighth is a button to add another site. The Start Page includes a search box and eight panels. Note that if you don't choose this option at the first install screen, you won't be able to add it later in Internet Explorer. Of course, it's even easier to just pick the site from PasswordBox's list to have it both navigate there and log you in. If multiple sets of credentials are available, PasswordBox presents a menu of choices. When you revisit a site for which PasswordBox has stored credentials, it neatly fills them in. You can edit the default title of any entry after the fact by editing it within PasswordBox. It simply displays an alphabetic list of saved logins, with a handy search box. As long as you log in with the same credentials, all your data will sync automatically. You can install PasswordBox on all your Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. Naturally, you'll create a strong master password during the setup process. You just create your free account and install the plug-in for Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or all three. Getting started with PasswordBox is simple. Since Intel's acquisition of PasswordBox, there's just one edition of PasswordBox Premium, and it's free.
